Manchester United have only conceded one goal in their last seven games, in all competitions.
Speaking after his team’s 1-0 (2-1 aggregate) victory over AC Milan in Thursday night’s Europa League knockout game, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been quick to draw attention to the impressive resistance from the Red Devils.
After being criticized recently for a drop in goals, Solskjaer has reminded journalists that keeping the ball out of his own net is just as important.
After what has been a much improved period for his team’s bottom line, Solskjaer said: “That is due to a lot of work on the training ground.
“The coaches, because of the team’s attitude of learning. We press from the front. Great attitude to defend from the front, with the four forwards.
“Of course, we have been training the four defenders and also the midfielders.
“But it is a team effort and the coaches have really worked on details that we are improving in every game, every week.
“And that’s the way to lay the foundations to win soccer games.”
